How Lease Rater collects, uses, and protects your information.

1) Who we are

“Lease Rater”, “we”, “our”, or “us” refers to the operator of the Lease Rater web application and related services. If you have questions, contact: info@leaserater.co.uk.

2) Scope of this notice

This notice covers personal data processed when you browse the site, create an account, generate OBR reports, or contact us. It also covers business data you input to perform calculations (e.g., asset class, lease term, sector).

3) Data we collect

  • Account & authentication: name, email address, hashed password.
  • Usage & diagnostics: IP address, device/browser info, pages visited, errors.
  • Calculation inputs: asset class/type, sector, company size band, credit band, lease term, optional vehicle details, and optional EIR inputs. These are stored with the report so you can review or download later.
  • Generated outputs: OBR/EIR results and a PDF copy of your report.
  • Support communications: emails you send to us.

4) How we use your data

  • Provide the service (calculations, report storage, downloads).
  • Secure accounts and prevent abuse.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Respond to support requests and operate our business.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

5) Lawful bases

We process data on one or more of the following bases: contract (to deliver the service you requested), legitimate interests (security, service improvement), and consent (where specifically asked and provided).

6) Retention

Report inputs/outputs are retained so you can revisit and evidence prior calculations. We periodically review storage and may delete inactive accounts or aged reports in line with our data minimisation approach. You may request deletion (see your rights below).

7) Sharing & transfers

  • Vendors: We may use reputable third parties (hosting, email) under contract.
  • Legal: We may share information if required to comply with law or protect rights.
  • No selling: We do not sell personal data.

8) Security

We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and regular updates. No internet service is perfectly secure; please protect your credentials and let us know about any suspected issues.

9) Cookies & similar tech
